In the case of the scooter, the drive onto the drive wheel (4) takes place by means of two tread levers (12, 13) in connection with free-wheel locking mechanisms (8). The two tread levers (12, 13) act on a common axle (7) via chains (15, 16) and are moved upwards again by springs (17). By this means, the upwards and downwards movements of the tread levers (12, 13) take place forcibly and in opposite directions. The feet and legs move in an organically pleasant and anatomically correct driving manner, which makes it easy to move the scooter forwards. <IMAGE>
