COMPOSITE SENSOR FOR DEPOSITED COAL

PURPOSE:To measure temperature and water at the same position simultaneously by providing a water detecting part and a temperature detecting part in a protection tube which is inserted into and extracted from deposited coal freely. CONSTITUTION:The sensor is provided in the protection tube which is inserted into and extracted from deposited coal. The sensor consists of the water detecting part composed of electrodes 23 and 23' and a material 24 which is provided between those electrodes and has excellent water absorption and desorbing property and the temperature detecting part composed of a thermocouple 231 provided in either of the electrodes, i.e. electrode 23'. The water content is measured from variation in the electric resistance value between the electrodes, and the water absorbing and desorbing material uses, for example, gypsum which is extracted from the deposited coal and leave in an atmosphere to vaporize its water for reuse.
