The strands making up the net, are extruded through a plurality of nozzles set along a pair of counter-rotating annular dies (2,3), to form a tubular net which is taken from the die along a stationary spindle (4) immersed in coolant (water), and cut along a helical path by a fixed cutter (5), to produce a strip 6. The strands of the tubular net have an inclination that can vary as a function of the speed of the counter-rotating dies (2,3), and this enables the strip to be at an inclination to the strands, thereby avoiding irregularities in a reel wound from the strip, and deposits from the cooling water and wear on the spindle, that would otherwise occur with net strands extruded from a fixed outer die (3). The invention relates also to the apparatus for carrying out said process, comprising an annular heater disposed around the outer die (3), at a slight clearance from the die. The rotation of the outer die (3) avoids temperature irregularities from the heater, and avoids temperature stagnation of the extrudate. <IMAGE> |
