Electro-photographic apparatus for producing still or moving pictures has a semi-transparent plate and having a photo-emissible coating forcing a non-conductive strip 7 which receives a latent electrostatic image from the coating upon exposure to radiant energy, source 6 of pigment particles and means for moving the strip past the source 6 to develop the latent image. The plate 4 is coated with caesium-silver which releases electrons upon exposure to light or other radiation. A space B between the plate 4 and strip 7 is evacuated, to facilitate the release of electrons, through a valve (14) Fig. 1 (not shown) by a vacuum pump, not shown. A shutter release (13) is operated to expose the plate 4 Fig. 2. Free electrons are collected by anodes 5 connected to a battery 15.
