1,039,129. Valves. FISENWERK RÍDING- HAUSEN. May 14, 1965 [May 30, 1964], No. 20545/65. Heading F2V. The threaded stem 2 of a gate valve is displaced axially by a sleeve nut 3 itself restrained axially through a collar 4; rotation of the stem 2 is prevented by the seats with which the tapered gate coacts. The nut 3 is sealed to the body 1 by 0-ring 6 whilst the opposed faces of the nut and stem incorporate 0-rings 8, 9 which latter undergo a helical movement relative to the opposed nut or stem face during valve actuation. The rings 8, 9 must be spaced such that there is no interference therebetween within the valve stroke; any dirt on the stem and/or nut is wiped off by the 0-rings. |
