PURPOSE:To obtain a copy of high quality even if there is an area having a difference in ground density by discriminating whether original density is high or low with the output signal of each unit sensor for every unit area read by the unit sensor, and controlling the copy image density of every unit area with the signal. CONSTITUTION:A half-mirror 8 is inserted and reflected light is made incident on a photosensor array 9 placed where an image is formed. The image signal from the sensor 9 is sent to an A-D converter 64 in response to a sampling command 63 and converted into a digital signal. A processor 65 performs processing so as to generate a low level for a thin texture density area part and a high level for a thick texture density area part and sends the delay time 66 of the rotation of a rotary drum to a controlled time delay circuit 67, and a liquid crystal shutter array control circuit 68 operates each unit liquid crystal shutter array 15. The liquid-crystal shutter array 15 is interposed between a photosensitive body 11 and a postexposure lamp 14 and shutters are opened and closed to expose the photosensitive body, thereby controlling the voltage of a latent image on the photosensitive body. |
