N-¢4-(Indolyl)-piperidino-alkyl!-benzimidazolones Compounds of formula I < IMG > wherein R1 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom or a methoxy group; R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R4 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or alkenyl of up to 3 carbon atoms; and n is 2 to 6; and acid addition salts thereof and methods for their preparation are provided. The compounds and their pharmacologically acceptable salts are useful as antiallergics and hypotensives and pharmaceutical compositions containing such components are also provided.
