PURPOSE:To save the man-hour or the like for the maintenance by making transfer of correction information and fault information of the software of a customer's system possible between the customer's system and the maintenance center via a service processor. CONSTITUTION:If a fault takes place in a customer's CPU10, fault information is logged out to a disc device 11 by a service processor 13. At the generation of a fault, a remote maintenance support program A of the CPU10 is started. The program A transmits a message of remote maintenance start to the maintenance center 30. When the utilization of the remote diagnostic function is designated from the center 30, the program A selects the remote diagnostic function and the remote diagnosis is started. Then a terminal device 32 of the center and the program A transmit/receive the information in the form of conversation, the disc 11 is accessed and the cause of the fault is sought. When the cause of the fault is found out, a remote maintenance support program B of the center 30 selects the required correction information from the disc 31 and transmits it to the CPU10. Thus, the faulty part is corrected. |
