The mills F4, F5 at the middle stage perform the high draft rolling within their prescribed temperature ranges by making their upper work rolls 9 small in diameter, and establish the quality of material W at the same time, The mills F6, F7 at the rear stage perform the finish rolling by making their upper work rolls 15 further smaller in diameter, and simultaneously finish the cross-sectional shape of material W into a desired dimensional accuracy by performing the crown controls of them by means of intermediate rolls.
