PURPOSE:To prevent mainly the resonance by appropriately increasing or decreasing a preselected feed speed of a broach in the actual speed thereof so as to intentionally change the frequency of vibration generated during the cutting operation of each tool of the broach. CONSTITUTION:In a method of controlling the cutting operation of a broaching machine, a rod 4b and accordingly a broach 1 start to move initially at a preselected feed speed. Upon the rod 4b starting movement, pulse signals are supplied from a movement pulse detector 7 to a unit 8 for detecting a present feed speed, where the pulse signals are counted per appropriate unit movement 1uantity or unit moving time while they are compared with pulse signals from a clock pulse generator 9. Thus the present speed of the broach 1 is detected. The result is arithmetically compared with the predetermined feed mode. By this method, the resonance mainly can be prevented. |
