<p>PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of rolling and the yield of materials by adjusting the angle of a taper surface provided to the end part of work roll of a specified rolling mill among plural rolling mills. CONSTITUTION:The taper angle correcting devices of the end parts 18 of work rolls are provided to one or two sets, or three sets of the work rolls 11 of a mill at the final stage, or mills at the 2nd and 3rd stages from the final stage, among plural mills. The outer peripheral surface of the sleeve-end part 18 of each work roll 11 is tapered toward the side of a roll chock 12. A ring spacer 20 is inserted movably in the axial direction between a stepped part 19 of roll axis and the sleeve end part 18. When a pressurized oil is supplied to the 1st and 2nd oil chambers 29 and 30 formed respectively at both ends of the spacer 20, the spacer 20 is brought to loosely fit or engage to/with the inner-peripheral taper-surface of sleeve-end part 18. The angle theta of the outer-peripheral taper-surface of the part 18 is adjusted by said method, to make a roll crown at the end part of a rolling material optimum thereby improving the accuracy of rolling.</p> |
