PURPOSE:To produce the conidospore of aspergillus absolutely free from the contamination with sundry germs, and to produce an enzyme such as galactosidase, by culturing aspergillus in a liquid medium having a pH and a phosphate ion concentration within specific respective ranges, thereby differentiating the aspergullus. CONSTITUTION:The liquid culture of aspergillus is carried out by keeping the pH of the medium to 4-6.5, and the phosphate ion concentration to 0.2-2.0mol. Preferably, the concentration of the saccharide, yeast extract, malt extract, peptone or amino acid in the medium component is maintained at <=1%.
