<p>PURPOSE:To improve the dimensional accuracy of a product by screwing up a rolling reduction axis by a screw-up quantity corresponding to a prescribed roll gap obtained by a specific equation after adjusting the zero point of roll gap basing on a mill rigidity curve. CONSTITUTION:In case of adjusting the gap between an upper rolling roll 2 and a lower rolling roll 3 by moving vertically the roll 2 through a rolling down screw 5 by driving a rolling redution axis 4 of mill 1; the axis 4 is rotated till a load larger than or equal to P0 in a mill rigidity curve is produced between the rolls 2, 3 after bringing the rolls 2, 3 into contact with each other. After adjusting the zero point of a roll gap, the axis 4 is screwed up by a screw-up quantity S obtained by an equation, S=(H-2D)-(P-F)/K, (H: prescribed thickness of material after rolling, P: expected rolling load, D: depth of caliber, F: contact load, K: mill rigidity value). In this way, the dimensional accuracy of a steel bar product is remarkably improved.</p> |
