PURPOSE:To perform multiple-electrode TIG welding without interference of arcs with each other by using one unit of welding power source and conducting successively selectively welding current from the welding power source to plural electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A torch provide, with, for example, three non-consumable electrodes 1, 2, 3 is used and the respective electrodes are connected respectively to a common welding power source 4 by a selector 5. When the electrode 2 is first connected to the power source 4 via a contact (b) by the selector 5, an arc is generated between the electrode 2 and a material 6 to be welded. When the selector 5 is changed over successively at certain timings like the contact (a) contact (c) contact (a) contact (b)..., the arc is successively fired to the electrode 1 electrode 3 electrode 1 electrode 2... in accordance therewith. Welding is thus accomplished while the arc generated between the electrodes 1, 2, 3 and the material 6 is successively moved. |
