The invention relates to a device permitting protection, by gas emission, against any theft or intrusion in all the areas to be protected. It consists of a main housing 19 containing a canister of gas 6 actuated by triggering a spring device 4 whose trigger 3 is held by a plastic thread 1. This plastic thread can be freed either by a purely mechanical action by the trigger stem 2, or by melting the plastic wire brought about by two resistors 12 or 16; the supply to the resistors is provided by the operation of five detectors adapted for various functions and providing protection, i.e.: access doors (Fig. 3), passage to be protected (Fig. 4), furniture or windows (Fig. 5), objets d'art or valuable objects (Fig. 6), various vehicles, cars, motorbikes (Fig. 7). <IMAGE>
