In a clothing fastener which can be mounted on a carrier so as to be adjustable in its place, an insertion member is provided which passes through the carrier. In order to achieve a reliable fastening in the case of a wide range of different carriers, it is proposed to arrange a two-part fastener on the upper side and the underside of the carrier, to arrange an insertion member on the inside of the one fastening part and to construct a bayonet connection as one coupling half, while the complementary counter-coupling half of the bayonet connection is provided on the inside of the opposite other fastening part. In this case, the element of the clothing fastener is situated on the outside of one of the two fastening parts.
