PURPOSE:To obtain a copying device which allows miniaturization and reduction of a cost by forming an original reading means and recording means to copy originals in the simple structure so as to constitute the device simply. CONSTITUTION:A reading/recording medium RRD is arranged and fixed on about a center of a casing 60, and its upward, a light source 70 is provided. First, light beams emitted by the light source 70 are radiated in the reading range on an original 62, and an image on the original is read by a reading part of the reading/recording medium RRD. Simultaneously, it is recorded on a heat sensitizing paper 88 by a recording part. Then an operator shifts the entire casing 60 on the original 62 due to guides of guide rollers 66 and 68, the image on the original 62 is read at every picture element line by the reading/recording medium RRD, and recorded on the heat sensitizing paper 88 transported by said RRD together with the shifting.
