PURPOSE:To remove foreign matter such as residual toner effectively and prevent toner from scattering in a device by providing a collecting means for the matter to be removed and supplying toner which is rubbed against the surface of a photosensitive body to the surface for a specific constant period. CONSTITUTION:The scraper 16 fixed on a support lever 16a is not in contact with the surface of a magnetic roller 12 normally. The wire W wound around the pulley 17 at one terminal of the support lever 16a is drawn by a solenoid 16S to put the free end of a plate member 16b closer to the surface of the roller 12, and then toner on the roller surface is scraped off and stored in a space S to some amount; and this toner is rubbed against the surface of the photosensitive body 1 to remove sufficiently foreign matter such as residual toner, paper powder, corona products, etc. Thus, the toner is rubbed against the surface of the photosensitive body in a period which does not relate to image forming operation directly to reduce toner scattering and contamination of respective parts and also remove the foreign matter such as the toner, thereby obtaining a copy of good quality stably. |
