PURPOSE:To decrease a cutting condition, for instance, a distance between a cutting grooved roller and a work to be cut so as to improve cutting efficiency, by turning in a normal and reverse direction at an optional angle the work to be cut of a wafer or the like with optional one point in its section serving as the turning center. CONSTITUTION:A base 6, mounting a fixing bed 5 of a work 14 to be cut, is longitudinally swivelled by a reversible motor 12, with a reduction gear 11, set to a lifting bed 8. Here a turning angle theta is set near to O from a start of cutting before it reaches a certain length of cut, and then if a depth of cut reaches a fixed value, a swivel bed 7 is swivelled so that the work 14 turns at a predetermined angle theta. In this way, the work 14, being continuously cut while turning at the predetermined angle theta in a fixed position, is cut to the work fixing bed 5, completing cutting. Thus the method, cutting the work with a point O in its section serving as the turning center and generating no change of a relative position between the work and a cutting head 4, improves cutting efficiency with a small distance between cutting grooved rollers 2 being only required. |
