PURPOSE:To obtain the titled glass having excellent flexural strength and dense texture, and useful as an implantation material, by forming and sintering glass powder composed of MgO, CaO, SiO2 and P2O5, and heating within a specific temperature range. CONSTITUTION:A composition composed of (A) >=90(wt)% mixture of 8- 34(wt)% MgO, 12-43% CaO, 25-40% SiO2 and 10-25% P2O5, and (B) <=10% mixture of one or more additives selected from Li2O, Na2O, K2O, SrO, B2O3, TiO2, Nb2O5, Ta2O5 and F2, is melted at 1,400-1,500 deg.C, quenched, and pulverized to obtain glass powder having particle size of finer than 200 mesh. The glass powder is formed, heated in a sintering temperature range, and heat-treated in a temperature range to form an apatite crystal and an alkaline earth metal silicate crystal such as diopside, forsterite, akamanite, etc. |
