PURPOSE:A specific mixed flux is added to a mixture of CdS and CdSe, then they are roasted in two stages to produce photoconductive CdSSe of high crystallinity and uniform particle size. CONSTITUTION:A mixed flux of CdCl2 and NaCl containing 2.0-4.0mol% of CdCl2 is added to a mixture of CdS and CdSe by 30-100wt% and they are roasted at 550-590 deg.C. Then, the powder is loosened and washed with sufficient amounts of water, dried and reroasted at 400-500 deg.C. Thus, the product is composed of perfectly separated single particles free from occlusion to give the high- smoothness and high-denseness coated film of photoconductive layer and photoelectric images of very good quality.
