PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head where a recording/reproducing signal is immune to the effect of side erase by applying chamfering to a track edge at the read/write core side of an erase core. CONSTITUTION:A signal is recorded by read/write core 2 of a floppy head provided with a core slider 1 at recording/reproduction and a signal written with spread on the side face of the read/write core 2 is applied with side erase. Since the read/write core 2 and the erase core 3 contact closely in this case, a part of the signal might be erased at erase or a read waveform might be unbalanced. Then an interval of the order of several microns is provided between the read/ write core and the erase core by chamfering the erase core. Since the interference of the side erase to a recording signal is decreased, the magnetic head with less waverform unbalance due to the effect of DC erase is attained and the magnetic head with less signal reduction is obtained. |
