PURPOSE:To provide a compact and light opening and closing mechanism of a head lamp cover for a vehicle by constituting conductively a drive portion from a spring of form memorizing alloy contractible at a certain temperature and a spring of form memorizing alloy expansible at a certain temperature. CONSTITUTION:Current is supplied to a coil spring 9 of form memorizing alloy to heat it when a member 3 to be opened and closed is closed. The coil 9, when reaching a certain temperature, expands and depresses a connecting arm 7 to pivot said member 3 about a pin 4 and open said member 3. Here, current is supplied to an electromagnet 13 to attract a permanent magnet 12 and hold the opened condition for interrupting the current supply to the coil spring 9. Next, to return said member 3 to the closed condition, current is supplied to the electromagnet 13 to repulse the permanent magnet 12 while current is supplied to a coil spring 10 of form memorizing alloy to heat it. When the spring 10 reaches a certain temperature, it contracts to pull up the connecting arm 7 to pivot said member 3 about the pin 4 and close said member 3. Thus, a compacter and light drive portion is provided to improve the degree of freedom of mounting position. |
