A metal tiled-stove insert (70) has a smoke gas register (72) which is arranged above the firebox (74) and can be fully or partially taken out of operation by a slide-controlled or flap-controlled bypass (112, 124). The smoke gas register can be divided into individual register sections (76, 78, 80) lying one above the other with different functions, e.g. as auxiliary heating register or as heating water generator, which can in each case be controlled independently by a slide (108, 120) or a flap. The register sections concerned can be arranged separately and connected by pipe pieces (82) with insertion connection in such a manner that thay can adopt different angular positions in relation to one another and in relation to the firebox (74). <IMAGE>
