PURPOSE:To improve the abrasion resistance thus to lengthen the service life and to prevent smearing, in surface preparation of super-hard alloy drill, by polishing the flute section of drill with specific emulsion then thermally processing under specific temperature. CONSTITUTION:Surface preparation of super-hard alloy drill is comprised of step for polishing the flute section 8 of drill body 10 with emulsion where diamond paste having grain size of 1-20mum is dispersed in solution where 10-100ml of 35% hydrochloric acid and 1-10ml of nitric acid are mixed for 50ml of 90% lactic acid to produce mirror face and step for applying polysiloxane oil onto said prepared flute section then processing thermally with temperature of 100- 350 deg.C. When treating the flute section 8 of drill body 10 in such a manner, service life can be lengthened considerably while smearing can be reduced considerably. |
