The sunshade protects the glazed roof of a veranda, conservatory etc. The sunshade comprises a roller blind at one end secured to a winding core rotationally loaded by at least one torsion spring, whilst the other end is secured to a sectional member. - At least one cable, fixed tothis member, passes around a pulley at the outer end of the roof. The cable is secured to a winding drum drivable by a reversible motor.
