PURPOSE:To obtain a type style printer apparatus having no necessity of a troublesome switchover operation for a selection of a code by providing an automatic discrimination means discriminating a sort of a print wheel to the printer apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A print wheel 10 has the projections 10a on an inner surface thereof. A plurality of projection 10a are provided at the prescribed positions of the print wheel 10. The projections 10 are detected by a print wheel auto matic discrimination mechanism operating as an automatic discrimination means, thereby a sort of the print wheel is discriminated. Then a code system being related to this discriminated print wheel is selected. For instance, if a discrimi nated result of the print wheel is a print wheel 30, the code system 31 is selected in accordance with this result. |
