The invention relates to a clock which procures various time parameters from the name of a place communicated to it. The displaying of the name of the particular selected place allows the calculation and automatic displaying, for this place, of time indicators such as: hours, minutes, months, days and phase of the moon, with calculation and displaying of the Gregorian calendar and of the Islamic calendar, with moreover indication of the direction of a favoured place such as Mecca and of the hour of the various Islamic prayers, indicated by an image on the screen and a sound signal. The invention applies mainly to Moslems, for use in calling to prayer and indicating the direction of Mecca, but may also serve in other applications. <IMAGE> |
