PURPOSE:To control the laser oscillation wavelength by a method wherein a diffraction grating rod lens is arranged in proximity to a semiconductor laser chip, and the position of the rod lens is varied. CONSTITUTION:The semiconductor laser chip 5, the rod lens 9, and a diffraction grating 13 are so arranged that the direction of inclination of the inclined end surface of the lens 9 may be coincident with the ruling direction 14 of the grating 13, and that a light emission opening 7 may be positioned on the point of intersection of a plane perpendicular to the grating 13 with the focus 11, including the center axis 12 of the lens 9. The variation of the distance (d) between the light emission opening 7 and the center axis 12 exables the control of the wavelength. |
