PURPOSE:To suppress the reduction of an electrolyte and accelerate the agitation of the electrolyte at the end of charge by using a substrate in which a Pb- Ca alloy and a Pb-Sb alloy are cast. CONSTITUTION:A substrate is produced by assigning a number of gates to a Pb-Ca alloy with high hydrogen overvoltage in the upper and intermediate sections of the substrate and to a Pb-Sb alloy in the lower part of the substrate and casting them simultaneously. The surface of the Pb-Ca and Pb-Sb alloys is melted excellently and can be cast without damaging the performance of the plate. By using such a plate, current density becomes higher in the Pb-Sb alloy section 1 than in the Pb-Ca alloy section 2 and the electrolysis of water, i.e. the generation of gas increases, and then the agitation of the electrolyte is accelerated. On the other hand, in the Pb-Ca alloy section 2, the hydrogen overvoltage is high and the electrolysis of water is suppressed, and the state in which the reduction of the electrolyte can hardly be seen occurs. |
