<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of unevenness during assembly of a steering wheel, by a method wherein the upper cylindrical member and the lower cylindrical member of a steering wheel are engaged with their respective bosses, and the lower cylindrical member is brought into a non-rotation state. CONSTITUTION:An inner engaging cylinder part 16 of an upper cylindrical member 15 is rotatably engaged with the outer periphery of an upper cylinder part 11 of a boss 8. An inner engaging part 43 of a lower cylindrical member 20 is rotatably engaged with the outer periphery of a lower cylinder part 41 of the boss 8. A securing mechanism 45 is located to the lower cylinder member 20, and through engagement of a projection 46 of the securing mechanism 45 with a hole 48 in a wheel body 47, rotation of the lower cylindrical member 20 is brought to a stop. With a wheel body 1 rotated, the boss 8 and a shaft 13 are rotated, but since the lower cylindrical member 20 is secured, it is free from rotation. This enables the wheel body to be checked for rotating operating condition before it is mounted to a steering shaft, and prevents the occurrence of unevenness in assembly.</p> |
