PURPOSE:To minimize a space necessary for positioning of a seat, by forming a storage section for an arm rest in each side section of a seat back. CONSTITUTION:A storage section 2 for an arm rest 1 is formed in each side section of a seat back A within the overwall width of the side section with the front end part of a support shaft 3 being projected therefrom. An arm rest 1 is provided, pivotablly around the front end part of a support shaft 3 between its storage position and its use position, and a push-out mechanism 4 for pushing out the arm rest is also assembled. The push-out mechanism 4 is provided with a cam mechanism consisting of, for example, a stationary cam and a movable cam 6. Both ends of a cam surface 5a of the stationary cam 5 abust against a stopper piece 8 at one end of a cam surface 6a of the movable cam 6 to stop the arm rest 1 against rotation. Thus push-put mechanism 4 may be provided with a cam mechanism composed of a cam groove and a guide pin or a stationary cam and a guide pin.
