PURPOSE:To prevent the fluctuation of sub-scanning due to one screwing of a feeding screw by driving a step motor based on a prescribed storage pattern. CONSTITUTION:When the feeding screw 1 is turned by the drive of a step motor 2, a nut 3 is moved and the feeding for sub-scanning is conducted. In driving the motor 2 at a constant speed, the sub-scanning feeding is fluctuated by using one turn of the screw 1 as a period due to deflection of the screw 1. A step motor control circuit 13 reads a pattern cancelling the speed variation at each period stored in a fixed pattern memory 12 to drive the motor 2.
