PURPOSE:To reliably protect a superconductive switch by using a SCR which is triggered at a gate by an acoustic emission (A.E.) signal. CONSTITUTION:An AE sensor 7 is attached to a superconductive swich 2, and a gate current is fed to a SCR6 by an interface circuit 8 which contains an amplifier. When the switch 2 is quenched, the SCR6 is conducted immediately by the AE signal to flow a gate current to normally protect the circuit. If the switch 2 is not quenched even if the AE signal is delivered, the forward voltage is not applied even if the gate voltage is applied to the SCR6, it is not conducted, and the circuit holds a superconductive permanent current mode. The gate current is stopped by an interface circuit 8 which contains an amplifier after the prescribed time. When the switch is quenched, the gate current is already flowed to the SCR6. Accordingly, it is fired at a high speed. Thus, a high voltage is not applied to the switch 2, thereby effectively protecting the circuit. |
