Multi-digit digital indicator

A multi-digit digital indicator is proposed in which current fluctuations due to the changing number of light-emitting diode segments switched on and not switched on are prevented. A first control device (22) successively activates the light-emitting diode segments (La1, Lb1 ... Lg1) of the individual segment indicators at a predetermined rate. A second control device (29) decides at the same rate which of the activated light-emitting diode segments should light up or should remain dark due to the diode current being bypassed to earth. <IMAGE>
