PURPOSE:To enable an operator to continue an input operation regardless of the input mode by deciding whether a character is already stored at a store position an performing the automatic switching between an insertion mode and a superscription mode. CONSTITUTION:An input part 1 produces a key code corresponding to an input operation. An input processing part 2 converts the key code into a character code, a code of KANJI (Chinese character), etc. and stores it temporarily. A character store part 3 inserts a character string to a text on a memory or superscribes said string. A memory part 4 stores a subject text for input and editing, and a display part 5 displays a text which is under input and editing. A cursor control part 6 is made coincident and correspondent between the character at the displayed cursor position and the character at the cursor position on a text stored in a memory part 4. Then a store/unstore deciding part 7 decides whether the characters are already stored on a text which is going to be supplied. An insertion/superscription switching part 8 inserts the input mode or switches the input mode to a superscription mode, and the switching result is delivered to the part 3. |
