PURPOSE:To connect between a keyboard section and an information processing section with less number of signal lines or wireless by rewriting the content of the storage element in accordance with key codes which are replaceable the key switch of the keyboard by the storage element of a register, etc. CONSTITUTION:A key code generating device 8 sends a make code Mc to a key code decoder 10a when the key switch K of a keyboard 5 is switched from the OFF condition to ON condition, and a break code BC to the decoder 10a when the switch K is switched from ON condition to OFF condition. The decoder 10a decodes sent codes. In the case of the make code MC, the decoder 10a outputs a binary register No., n', to a binary-N'-notation decoder 11 and sets only the m'-th bit Bm' of data to be written in a register 12 to logic ''0'', and then, sends a write signal 16 to the register 12. When the sent code is the break code BC, the device 10a write logic ''1'' in the m'-th bit Bm' of the register Rn'. When such arrangement is made, an information processor 1 can discriminate the condition of the switch K of the keyboard 5 by discriminating the m'-th bit.
