PURPOSE:To obtain an electrolyte separated into two layers, by allowing an aqueous potassium carbonate solution to absorb ammonia. CONSTITUTION:If an aqueous potassium carbonate solution is allowed to absorb a large amount of ammonia, the solution is separated into two layers. As a result, two layers consisting of an upper layer solution comprising a dilute aqueous potassium carbonate solution and containing a large amount of ammonia and a lower layer solution comprising an aqueous high conc. potassium carbonate solution and containing a small amount of ammonia are obtained in the upper and lower parts of a container. |
