METHOD FOR PREVENTING CRACKING OF TITANIUM BAND PLATE DUE TO SPARK

PURPOSE:To manufacture efficiently a titanium plate of high quality annealed in the air by electrically insulating each immersed roll so as to prevent the electrical grounding of a titanium band plate through the roll. CONSTITUTION:Each immersed roll 1 is electrically insulated by coating the surface of the roll 1 with an insulating material or interposing an insulating material between the roll 1 and an electrically grounded body 8. The roll 1 itself may be made of an insulating material. A flow of electricity between a titanium band plate 4 to be treated and the roll 1 is controlled to prevent the cracking of the plate 4 due to spark, so a titanium plate of high quality annealed in the air is efficiently manufactured.
