PURPOSE:To provide the titled carrier supporting immobilized colistinmethanesulfonic acid sodium salt which is a polymyxin antibiotic available at a low cost and having high safety. CONSTITUTION:The colistinmethanesulfonic acid sodium salt of formula (R1 and R2 are defined in the Table I ) (produced in the culture liquid of sporangium bacteria, Bacillus polymyxa) is immobilized by bonding the gamma-amino group to a substrate (e.g. agalose, cellulose, other insoluble polysaccharide, polyacrylamide, resin, glass, etc.) to obtain an insoluble carrier for the adsorption of pyrogenic substance. The amount of the immobilized compound of formula is 5-50mg per 1ml of the carrier, and the product can adsorb 0.1-10mg of the pyrogenic substance per 1ml of the carrier. The adsorbed substance can be eluted with a concentrated salt solution, and the carrier is effective also to clarity the solution. It can be regenerated easily, and an injection having improved safety can be prepared.
