PURPOSE:To eliminate the leak of a developer from an insertion and extraction port even when a developer container is inserted and extracted frequently by providing a developer scraping member and a means which returns a scraped developer to a storage chamber on the internal wall surface of the developer container. CONSTITUTION:When the developer container 20 is inserted into the insertion and extraction port 15 of a developing device 2, a projection at the outer circumfrenece of an inner cylinder 22 is fitted in a guide groove, so slots 21c and 22d never engage each other to flow a developer out. When the insertion is completed, the inner cylinder 22 becomes rotatable, but the projection 21a of an outer cylinder 21 is specified in rotation with a specifying groove 12a, so slots 21c and 22a of the inner and outer cylinders are aligned to each other to flow the developer into a hopper 6 lengthwise uniformly, forming a uniform toner image. A sticking developer is scraped off with the scraping member 17 during the attachment and detachment of the container 20, so no toner leaks out of the insertion and extraction port 15. Therefore, even when the container is inserted and extracted repeatedly, no developer is accumulated, so neither deterioration in scraping ability nor outflow of the developer is caused. |
