The invention relates to a device for limiting convective heat transfer to the upper parts, constructed as controllers arranged in an upright fashion, of thermostat valves 3, in particular for heaters of single-pipe water-heating systems. It consists of a blank, constructed generally in the shape of a disc or the like, made from an elastic material which can be fastened between the valve body, constructed as the lower part 4, and the sensor 5 with the thermostat 6. The blank permits air to be guided in such a way that air heated by the valve and warm air rising at the heater induce a flow of room air which flows to the sensor 5 without being mixed with warm air (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
