PURPOSE:To produce efficiently a thermocouple having stable quality irrespectively of the degree of the operator's skill by erecting and holding perpendicularly a thermocouple which is held inserted internally with a strand, placing a steel ball at the top open end thereof and performing welding. CONSTITUTION:A thermocouple 1 which is held inserted internally with a strand 2 formed by combining metals of two kinds is erected and is fixed and held with a jig 3 by using a vice. A stainless steel ball 4 is placed at the top open end of the thermocouple 1 and the top end of the strand 2 is pressed to the bottom surface of the steel ball 4. A gas nozzle 5 for TIG welding is disposed right above the ball 4 and an arc is generated in a gaseous argon atmosphere to melt the surface of the ball 4, thus forming a molten metal layer 7 around the ball 4. The top end of the strand 2 is thus coated with the molten metal layer 7 and the secure welding is accomplished. |
