PURPOSE:To prevent a creep phenomenon from taking place, by automatically operating a brake pedal with the use of an actuator having a motor section when an automatic transmission unit is set at a travelling range under a predetermined condition, thereby braking is effected. CONSTITUTION:In a control unit which receives output signals from detects elements for detecting a travelling range, an engine rotational speed, a vehicle speed and an accelerator opening degee, when the following condition is established after the travelling rnge being set: zero vehicle speed, more than 1,000r.p.m. engine rotational speed and zero accelerator opening degree, a solenoid 40 in a solenoid valve 4 is energized to open valve element 41. Thereby, intake-air vacuum is introduced into a vacuum chamber 22 in an actuator 2 to move a diaphragm 21 leftward, and therefore, a brake pedal 10 is swung in the diection of pedal depression through an actuating rod 24, a bellcrank 6 and an actuating cable 60 to operate a brake 14. The above-mentioned solenoid 40 is deenergized at once upon depression of the accelerator pedal.
