PURPOSE:To perform the shift operation and the selection operation while being not affected with each other by providing a drive direction converting mechanism to convert the reciprocating movement of a selection push-pull drive member in the axial direction into the axial reciprocating movement of a cone rod. CONSTITUTION:When an inner cable 10 of a shift cable 3 is driven with push- pull drive in directions A, B, a shift 1 is moved in the directions A, B so as to attain shift operation. Since a cone rod 22 is shaken around a ball joint 23 in this case, no effect of the shift operation takes place in a bell crank 17 and a selecting rod 15. When an inner cable 11 of a selection cable 4 is driven in directions A, B with push-pull, the bell crank 17 is turned in directions E, F around a pin 19, the cone rod 22 is moved in directions G, H so as to turn a shaft 1 in directions C, D, allowing to attain the selecting operation. Since the shift rod 11 and the shaft 1 are connected around the shaft center in this case, no effect of the selecting operation takes place to the shaft 1. |
