PURPOSE:To enable utilization of a microlens for multiple applications by forming a substantially non-piezo-electric distributed index part in a piezo-electric crystal base plate so that the refractive state changes according to the polarizing condition of incident light. CONSTITUTION:A thin Cr film having about 1,000Angstrom thickness is provided on the surface of a crystal base plate 8 consisting of an X plate LiNbO3 and further a thin Al film having about 3,000Angstrom thickness is provided as a mask 6 thereon. The base plate is put into a vessel contg. C6H5COOH powder 9 and is subjected to a heating treatment for about 50hr at 250 deg.C. Palmitic acid, stearic acid, etc. are used for the powder 9 in addition to said material. The plate 8 is pulled up after the heat treatment and is cleaned in ethanol then in acetone. The mask 6 is stripped in an etching soln. for Al and Cr. The substantially non-piezo-electic distributed index part is thus formed in the piezo-electric optical crystal base plate 8. |
