PURPOSE:To improve the joint shooting performance of a recorder for Y/C separation record by resetting a synchronizing signal generator for a fixed period from the record starting time with the pulse given from a pulse generator provided to a rotary drum. CONSTITUTION:A pulse PG obtained synchronously with the revolution of a rotary drum has the same phase as a reference signal REF.S obtained from a synchronizing signal generator 6 in a state where the rotary drum has a satisfactorily state revolving state. Thus an image pickup device is obtained with a fixed relation to the signal REF.S. The timing of the image pickup signal obtained from a camera 7 is controlled by the pulse PG and by resetting the generator 6 itself with the pulse PG since the revolving phase of the drum is delayed as compared with the signal REF.S at a record starting point. The time relationship between the PG and a head is decided unequivocally by the mechanical relationship between them. Therefore it is possible to record the vertical synchronizing signals to a tape with no omission.
