PURPOSE:To obtain the titled apparatus capable of descaling simply, easily and effectively by quenching scale-deposited material of high temperature with the first water discharging means and thereafter by constituting said apparatus so as to discharge water from the second water discharging means having water discharging capacity larger than the first means. CONSTITUTION:In a descaling apparatus 70 for descaling the depositions on the surface of a seamless steel pipe 50 by discharging pressurized water from a descaling nozzle 40 while transferring said pipe 50 of high temperature introduced from an introduction port 74 provided with a penetration guide 74 in the direction shown by an arrow, said descaling header 40 is constituted by the first descaling header 40A and the second descaling header 40B which are provided to the upper- and lower-stream sides respectively in the direction of relative transferring of said pipe 50. The power water is discharged from nozzles 42 of said header 40A to quench said pipe 50 and to crack the scales, and successively water is discharged more powerfully from said header 40B to descale the scales effectively.
