PURPOSE:To make a lifeboat possible to pick up a drifter easily and safely, yet quickly, by attaching a reticulate body for holding the drifter, in a tip end of a rocking arm installed in a side part of the lifeboat. CONSTITUTION:A turning arm 1 being rotatably supported between a housing position on an upper deck 3 and a turning position corresponding to a broadside's doorway 4 is installed in a rear part of a lifeboat 2. The turning arm 1 is provided with a rocking arm 5 with picks up a person adrift on the surface of the sea, while a reticular body 8 for holding the drifter is stretched over a tip end of the atm 5. This rocking arm 5 is so constituted as to be rockable when an operator on the deck operates a control lever 12 in design. Having the rocking arm 5 situated in the underwater and after the drifter transfers onto the reticular body, a crew-member on the boat houses the drifter inside the boat as he operates the lever 12.
