PURPOSE:To apply uniform and definite pre-load to a ball bearing by axially fixing, with a fixing means an outer ring of the bearing in a condition where the definite pre-load is applied to said ring by means of a pressurizing rod. CONSTITUTION:An inner ring 3b of a ball bearing 3 is fitted around a rotary shaft 4 and an outer ring 3a is fitted to the interior of a housing for a fixed housing 2 and a stop ring 5 is inserted therein. Pressurizing rods 11a of a pressurizing rod support body 11 provided with the plural number of through holes 11b, for the plural number of pressurizing rods 11a and screws 8 to pass through from outside, are inserted in through holes 10 of the fixed housing 2 and the outer ring 3a of a ball bearing 3 is pressed by means of a definite pressure. Under this pressurized condition, the screws 8 are screwed in female screws 9 and pre-loading is stopped later and then the pressurizing rod support body 11 is removed form the fixed housing 2. |
